About Mitchell
Mitchell Berman was raised in a one-stoplight town in rural Wisconsin where neighbors looked out for one another and values like community, honesty, and integrity weren’t just taught – they were lived. His father built a small roofing business from the ground up and his mother worked long hours grinding pistons at the local foundry. Growing up, Mitchell spent his days hunting, fishing and going to church. His parents taught him to work hard, lend a hand, and root for the Packers.
A proud product of Wisconsin’s public schools, Mitchell was the first in his family to graduate from college – earning his degree while working three jobs, living paycheck to paycheck, and taking out student loans. He got his start mowing lawns at age 12 and earned his nursing assistant license by 17, determined to build a life through grit and perseverance – not privilege.
He landed his first union job with Teamsters Local 344 while in college and has been a proud union member at each organized facility he’s worked, including with the Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals and, most recently, National Nurses United—underscoring his unwavering commitment to workers’ rights and collective advocacy.
With more than 23 years of experience in healthcare, Mitchell is a registered nurse who has spent over a decade serving veterans, active duty servicemembers, and their families at the VA. Mitchell continues to serve as a board certified emergency nurse and is no stranger to high-stakes situations – he’s trained to think clearly under pressure, solve complex problems quickly, and deliver compassionate care when it matters most. His work has been guided by the belief that everyone deserves quality care, no matter who they are or where they come from.
Mitchell is a devoted husband, father of two girls, and Packers season ticket holder who still believes in the promise of the American Dream – even as that dream becomes harder to reach for so many. At the bedside, Mitchell has seen firsthand the fear in his patients' eyes, worried about losing their healthcare or being forced to choose between groceries and life-saving medication. He never thought he’d run for office, but he’s running for Congress because he’s sick of the corrupt career politicians in Washington who are enriching themselves and their big donors at the expense of regular people, and he believes we deserve a system that puts our health and well-being first, not corporate profits.
Mitchell Berman is one of us—a neighbor who knows firsthand the struggles and the dreams that define southeast Wisconsin. Rooted in community, fairness, and faith in people. He’s running to bring true representation back to Washington. Mitchell’s fight is for a government that finally looks like, listens to, and stands up for all of us.
